Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue

Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) is the operational arm of the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue (LSBIR).

The agency came into being through the passage of a bill which was presented to the Lagos State House of Assembly and assented to, by the then Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the 13th of March,2006.

The Lagos State Revenue Law established the LSBIR as a body corporate with perpetual succession and the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) as its operational arm. It also makes provision for the Administration and Collection of Revenue due to the State Government and Local Government Councils.
